DERBY REFUGEE WEEK 2010

ncise Derbyshire in cooperation with Derby Bosnia-Herzegovina Community Association, Derby Refugee Advice Centre and Derby City Council were actively involved in organising Derby Refugee Week 2010 and facilitated two events.
Migrant and Refugee Stories Exhibition was open for a wide public on 15 and 17 of June. People not only could come and read inspiring personal stories from different communities but also could get much information about displacement occurring everyday all over the world. As a result millions of refugees are created who eventually come to Europe looking for a safer way of life.
On the 17th of June all the staff from three partner organisations and representatives from different communities participated in Civic Reception facilitated by the mayor of Derby followed by the film showing at Quad.
The whole process of preparation for the event was very challenging but at the end very rewarding for ncise. It transferred ncise and its member groups relationship into completely new quality relationship based on trust and understanding.
