Master Degree in Military Science Sarajevo University in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bachelor Degree in Economics (Finance) Sarajevo University and Diploma in  Mechanics.

Ferid attended multiple training courses covering community development issues in England and has extensive experience in providing voluntary service support in various roles for the NHS, British Red Cross and Derby City Council
In 1999, Ferid in cooperation with members of the Derby Bosnian Community coordinated the establishment of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Community Association and has since this time dedicated all of his time to the development of the organisation and serving the needs of Bosnians in Derby and the whole of England.

His valuable experience of working with people and his successful management of multiple projects is now highly regarded by various organisations in Derby. He is a member of the Management Committee of Derby CAS and Derby Refugee Forum. Ferid contributes significantly with his knowledge of development of such organisations as Cultural Diversity Minority Forum, New Communities Strategic Group etc.

Ferid is a sincere and kind person strongly committed to help the most vulnerable people, particularly Asylum Seekers and Refugees. He is a professional manager with a great interest in development of communities.

In cooperation with Norwegian partners, Ilona established an international social enterprise “Baltic Innovation Group” with the aim to create sustainable communities in the Baltic Sea Region and worked as its Managing Director. She has seven years experience working with EU projects and international cooperation management with a focus on administrative capacity building, empowerment of people, good governance and networking. As part of Ilona’s professional portfolio she spent two years as an Office Manager with an organisation that created an incubator to support and assist young entrepreneurs in developing their businesses.

Ilona worked as a volunteer in rural India, Gambia and the UK focusing on poverty, human rights and international development. She organised fundraising campaigns to support poor children in India and Bangladesh and worked as an organisational development consultant in Jordan and Iraq. 

 

 

Coco Kambala, Secretary
BSc (Hons) in International Relations and Global Development,  Foundation Degree in Community Regeneration and Development from the University of Derby. Degree in Information Systems, (Democratic Republic of Congo).

 

 

 

 



Coco is a professional and consistent member of the Congolese Community who worked as a system manager for various companies in the DRC and later set up his own TV production business with a range of socio-economic and political TV programmes.
He joined the Congolese Community Association in Derby in 2002, and has remained a key contributor to the organisation’s agenda.  

He is currently the General Secretary of the Bondeko Congolese Association. Coco has seven years experience working with the Congolese Community and is passionate about retaining cultural values and helping ethnic minorities become valuable members of British society.

As a musician Coco takes part in various cultural events throughout the county promoting the community diversity, tolerance, human rights, freedom and good practices of social cohesion amongst the citizens of Britain.

 

Kelly Kitenge, Tresurer
Bachelor Degree in Nutrition and Diet from the University of Bukavu University in DRC. Foundation Degree in Community Regeneration and Development from the University of Derby.
Kelly has four years experience as a Nutritionist in Bukavu General Hospital in DRC where many children suffer with malnutrition.

Kelly Kitenge is the acknowledged leader of the Congolese community here in Derby, having provided committed support to individuals in his community as well as to its leadership since his arrival in England in 1998. In 2002, he established the Bondeko Congolese Charity with the aim to serve and help his community members. Meanwhile he started working with the University of Derby and other Congolese groups to explore how the University can help them be more active and accessible. This pilot project with the University has resulted in a plan of action and an application for regional community funding. Kelly, together with two other members of his community, along with University colleagues, attended the Times Higher Education Awards ceremony in London in October, after the project was shortlisted for an award in the Outstanding Contribution to the Local Community category.

Kelly is professional voluntary French, Swahili and Lingala interpreter for NHS and other organisations in the city. He also works as a volunteer for the Bosnia and Herzogovina Community Centre, Derby Refugee Forum, Refugee Support and NCISE.

Kelly cares about people who were forced to leave their country and he has great understanding how difficult it is to establish a new life in a different cultural and political environment. He wants people to become valuable members of the community realise their potential and be active citizens.
