About NCISE Northamptonshire

With the help of Novas Scarman Group, local community groups in Northamptonshire have joined hands and are working together in NCISE project. While Novas Scarman Group provides financial and logistical support, the local groups provides human resource ie, members of different groups from a diverse social and cultural background are working together by sharing ideas and trying to address their concerns in various spheres of life that affect our daily lives. But above all, through NCISE, Northamptonshire local groups are now exploring opportunities in our local areas in order to venture into sustainable social business enterprises which can help to empower the local groups and its members to be economically independent and socially very active members of society.

Management Committee

Chair - Gerry Elliott I hope for NCISE Northamptonshire will offer practical support to small or new social enterprise based in the heart of communities. And I hope that NCISE will work in partnership with local enterprise enabling them in their journey towards sustainability. I  hope that NCISE will provide a positive model of social enterprise to new start ups and existing social enterprise among new communities especially.  I currently work with the following:

Andrew Gondwe (Secretary); Yemi Olowoyo (Treasurer); Ismail Ali (Member); Abade Ahmed (Member); Daniel Draper (Member); and Rutendo Nyatsine (Member).

A brief comment from our officers about hopes for NCISE
My aspiration and vision for NCISE is to be able to inspire and encourage new arrival groups within the
Community to sustain themselves, and move away from the notion of grant funding aid. To compete in
all facets of entrepreneurship at the high side level.

 Volunteers

John Nimly Brownell is the Project Manager for NCISE Northamptonshire on a voluntary basis.  He has worked with community groups over ten years and has a vast experience in working with Black and Minority Ethnic Communities. He also worked as Diversity Officer at the Castle Arts Centre and Theatre in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. My hope for NCISE is that it will give the smaller grass root organizations an opportunity to become self sustainable and get rid of the aged old dependency on funding syndrome.
